Message from the NJACAC President

Hi all,

Welcome back! I hope you enjoyed a well-deserved and rejuvenating summer.  As we kick off what promises to be another great academic year, I want to take a moment to reconnect, share some exciting updates, and highlight the progress we’ve made on key priorities.

Before diving into the details, a quick confession: this message is going to be longer than usual!  I believe that’s a reflection of the incredible growth and evolution we’re experiencing as an organization.  NJACAC is stronger than ever, continuing to provide you with unparalleled opportunities for networking, education, and community. There's a lot to be excited about, so let's get to it!

Membership is Live!

Last year, the Executive Committee approved a trial run of institutional membership.  While it was a bold move, the timing just wasn’t right, and it didn’t make the impact we had anticipated.  As a result, we’ve returned to Individual Memberships.  The 2024-2025 Membership Application is now live, and it’s the perfect time to renew for the upcoming year!  Individual memberships may be purchased by Credit Card or Purchase Order for $40 on our website.

Please note, each member is required to submit their own membership application.  If multiple members from your office intend on submitting a purchase order (PO), and you need a "master invoice", please ensure they complete their applications first.  Once all applications are completed, contact our Executive Assistant at executive.assistant@njacac.org, and we will gladly issue a single invoice for your office.

Membership with NJACAC offers incredible benefits, including access to Professional Development Workshops, Wisdom Exchanges, the College Fair Registry, Access to Scholarship and Grants, and much more.  Don’t miss out on all that’s in store—renew today and continue taking advantage of everything NJACAC has to offer!

Our commitment to providing valuable professional development opportunities remains a top priority.  Below are some exciting upcoming events available to you as a member. Onboarding Slate as Our New CRM

I’m excited to share that we’ve completed the transition to Slate as our new CRM!  While we’re still fine-tuning things, this system will make it much easier to stay connected with upcoming events and opportunities.

As we roll out our second new system in two years, I kindly ask for your patience and understanding in the weeks ahead.  I am confident that Slate is the solution we’ve been searching for to elevate our member experience, but, as with any great endeavor, it will take time to fully realize its potential.

Introducing the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee at NJACAC

I'm proud to announce that this summer, the Executive Committee voted to officially establish the DEI Committee. We’re thrilled that Dr. Sarah Smith and Tasha Rivera have volunteered to serve as the inaugural Co-Chairs. Over the next year, the DEI Committee will be offering professional development programs, Special Interest Group opportunities, and both in-person and virtual events.

The committee is actively seeking members, so if you're interested in joining and making a difference, please fill out this form to get involved!

NJACAC Goes to NACAC

It’s hard to believe NACAC is just a few weeks away! If you’re planning to attend, don’t forget to update your registration to include the NJACAC Meeting.  This year's meeting is particularly important as we are voting on changes to the NJACAC Bylaws.  Please see below for the proposed changes we will be voting:

  • Membership Eligibility: Clarification of criteria, including new opportunities for vendors, partners, and for-profit institutions beginning in January 2025.

  • Membership Categories: Removal of non-voting memberships. Going forward, all members in good standing will have full voting rights and privileges.

These updates will make our membership structure more transparent and inclusive.  By refining eligibility criteria and expanding voting rights, we ensure NJACAC remains relevant, welcoming to a broader range of professionals, and aligned with our mission.  This not only upholds our standards but also strengthens member engagement, drives revenue, and supports our collective goals.  We're looking forward to connecting with you in LA!!
